Any Tribal member 18 years old or older, and a Cowlitz member or Cowlitz descendant may apply.
The Tribe has three (3) open seats for a 3-year term on our Weavers Committee! We ask that you are experienced in weaving cultural significant materials and are able to teach weaving or willing to work towards that goal. We also support our members with different classes throughout the year. It is also preferred if you have the physical ability to walk through the woods to harvest materials for weaving. The committee will be conducting in-person interviews of the applicants and voting in DuPont on December 14 to be combined with our monthly meeting and 2026 calendar workshop.
Time Commitment: Meet the second Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. and the meetings go for 2-2.5 hours. On average there will be 1-2 teaching events per month. Some events require preparing materials before the event.
Stipend Amount: $100 per month. Stipends are also available for extra required teaching classes and prep work.
