Mission/Vision:

Our Cowlitz Veterans have honorably served our people, tribe, ancestral lands, and country. It is the duty of the Cowlitz Veterans Program to serve, honor, and welcome home our Veterans.  Our program serves Cowlitz Veterans and those actively serving in the US Armed Forces, no matter where they are in the world. It is our mission to assist them in attaining wholeness and wellness in mind, body, emotion, and spirit as they return home from their journeys of service.

We want to remind all Veterans and Service members that you are not alone. We are here for you. If you or someone you know is struggling, please don't hesitate to reach out. Our doors are open, and our hearts are ready to listen. Sometimes, the bravest thing one can do is ask for help. Together, we can overcome anything.

Whether you're facing unexpected financial challenges or need temporary assistance with housing, food, or other essential needs, our emergency support services are available to provide assistance when it's needed most.

Your well-being is important to us. Your physical and mental health are a priority for our community.

We prioritize VA Burial and Family Services to honor and support veterans and their families during challenging times. Our program facilitates seamless coordination with the Veterans Affairs department, ensuring dignified burials and comprehensive family support. We strive to provide solace and assistance to families, recognizing and honoring the service and sacrifice of our veterans, by helping navigate the intricacies of VA burial benefits.

Our community and social support services aim to foster a sense of belonging and camaraderie among veterans. We organize social and recreational activities, offer cultural and traditional services, advocate for veterans' rights in the community, and provide outreach to ensure that your unique needs as a veteran are met. We are here to help you connect, engage, and thrive within our veteran community.

Our Veterans Program is committed to providing advocacy and representation in collaboration with both State and Federal level, Governmental and Non-Governmental agencies. Our dedicated efforts ensure that the distinctive needs of veterans are acknowledged and addressed comprehensively. By engaging with these entities, we safeguard veterans' benefits, providing them with the support and representation necessary for a secure and fulfilling post-service life.

About

The legacy of an ancient people in southwest Washington is rich with descendants who manage a growing portfolio of health, education, scientific research, housing, transportation, development, elder care, conservation and legal issues. The Cowlitz Tribe is a growing force in community building in what are now Clark, Cowlitz, Lewis and parts of Pierce, Skamania and Wahkiakum Counties, a vast territory occupied by numerous Cowlitz villages prior to non-Cowlitz exploration and seizure. Today, an elected Tribal Council is composed of professionals adept at managing multiple programs and projects.
