WCSAP Award and Scholarship!

Nominations are due by February 17, 2012 at 5pm.

Help us in nominating some exceptional individuals in our communities by reviewing our award and scholarship nomination forms listed below!

Gerald L. Swain Award

The Gerald Swain Award was established in memory of a committed activist whom the Washington Coalition of Sexual Assault Programs was honored to have as a staff accountant for many years. The purpose of this award is to honor an individual working "outside of the box" to end sexual assault, as Gerald did.

Shanette Green Professional Development Scholarship

Shanette Green was a much loved employee of the Washington Coalition of Sexual Assault Programs who passed away in February, 2004. During the course of her professional development at the coalition, Shanette had several opportunities to travel to conferences to expand her skills and network with other activists in the movement. As a result, Shanette observed that opportunities to attend conferences and trainings were often rare for administrative support staff.

She often commented that these trips were some of the highlights of her time at WCSAP, and greatly enhanced her work at the coalition. This scholarship is in her honor to provide similar opportunities for Administrative Staff working in our movement to end sexual violence.
