Bi-annual General Council Encampment
Time: June 4-6, 2010
Place: Vader Property
Directions:
From I-5 traveling North take exit 59
At the end of the off ramp you will have, Beesley's Resturant on your left.
Continue straight, the road becomes Mulfered Rd. Go East 1/8 mile.
Take 1st drive way (graveled) and go to the right. Travel down the road
it forks, stay to the Right and continue to drive onto the property.
There will be a sign that says Cowlitz Indian Tribe. Camping will be
down near the Camp fire. The property will be mowed for camping.
From I-5 traveling South take Exit 59 Vader/Ryderwood
At the end of the off ramp take a left turn, you will only be going
about 40 yards to the left! (Be careful not to enter the highway to the
south), drive to the next left!
Turn Left onto Cowlitz Loop, this will take you to the other side of the highway, by going under the Cowlitz I-5 bridge.
Turn right at Beesley's Resturant continue straight, the road becomes

Please come join us for a Cowlitz Encampment at the Vader exit property starting Friday June 4. Come anytime to the property and bring your own tent, food and camping supplies. Celine Cloquet-Vogler is bringing her horses to enjoy. There will be Porta Potties and a hand washing station available at the property.
Saturday following General Council weather permitting we will have a Cultural Resources Board meeting at 4 p.m. for all those who are interested and want to attend at the property. If it's raining we will meet and have it at St. Mary's. Come and learn what's going on Culturally at the Tribe. Representatives from the Horse, Museum, Cemetery, Drumming, and Canoe Committees will be present to answer questions and give updates.
Saturday evening we will have a bonfire at the property with Drumming, Storytelling, Hot Dogs and Smores.
Sunday at 10 a.m. at the Miekler Rd. boat ramp will be the First Salmon Ceremony. See the First Salmon Ceremony page for details.
